Meet The Sorahs and The Goldens
The Sorah Family
Paul and Lindsey, along with their three children, make up 2/3 of Hearts of Harvest Farm. Both come from families who have owned or currently own a farm, but neither grew up actively farming. Paul grew up in a family of master gardeners and some of his earliest childhood memories are from those gorgeous plots pulling up radishes and watching his father and grandfather transform tiny seeds into gorgeous vegetables. Lindsey's family moved away from the family farm shortly before she was born and she grew up in the suburbs and later moved to Atlanta and threw herself head first into city life. After the breakneck pace of the city took its toll, Paul and Lindsey decided they wanted a different life for their children and family so they took a leap of faith and bought a small farm just outside of Athens. They now pinch themselves daily that this dream has become reality. They've traded trendy restaurants, chic festivals and all the "places to be" for date nights under the moon shoveling a neighbor's cow manure to make compost... and they wouldn't have it any other way. The Sorahs are passionate about nourishing the mind, body and spirit with healthy food, taking care of the planet which starts in our very own yards with how we treat our soil, and working towards making organically grown food easily accessible to all families.
The Golden Family
Mark, along with his wife Stephanie and their young son, moved from Nashville, TN to start Hearts of Harvest Farm with Paul and Lindsey. Mark worked for almost a decade in the Bells Bends Community in Nashville on various farms learning from some of the very best farmers from sowing seeds to harvesting and all things in between. With a passion for mycology, Mark brings with him an extensive knowledge of mushrooms. Fun Fact: Paul and Mark were in a Progressive Hard Rock band together for years before taking on running a farm together. Now, Paul, Lindsey and Mark play Americana music together in their free time. Stephanie is a master beekeeper and is lending her knowledge and skills to increase our honey bee population on our farm.
